Stepping Out From the Shattered Place

The Lord has had me on an incredible journey. I finally feel like I am stepping out from the shattered place into Gods healing hands.

School Vacation Week

What a week. School vacation week is nearly over and I have to tell you I am glad. It was a very good week but LOOOOOOOONG I am exhausted.

A few lunches here and there a few trips to the local carnival and a shopping trip to end all shopping trips.

All of it was time well spent. One was a teen I have not seen in a few years. She was a friend of one of our church girls. Our girl moved to another state and I lost touch with the friend. We met and had a nice long lunch talked about everything. She has a bright future ahead of her. She was surprised that I still think about her and that I wanted to get together with her. I think she was pleased that I still care about her and keep her in prayer.

A trip to the carnival with one of the teen boys from the church I used to go to was a great time. We walked and talked and ate popcorn. He is just glad to know that he can still talk to me about the things he feels he can't talk to anyone else about. He seemed relieved and glad that my leaving the church is not going to affect my relationship with him.

The next few trips to the carnival where just as good. I was very glad for the free tickets from the guys at the carnival. Saved me a bundle! God bless my Guys because they make Youth work so much more affordable for me in the summer! One ticket per ride and they do not cost me anything. I do bring them coffee which they love but they do not give me the tickets because I give them coffee. They give me the tickets because they know what I do with them. I am very grateful.

The shopping trip to end all shopping trips was also a great time. A middle school girl from my old church and I went. She has grown at least 5 inches since last summer so we head to the outlets. We talked and laughed and spent some money. We talked each other out of buying some things. A good game of would you rather and a chance to talk heart to heart about friends and middle school life. I was pleased on the final leg of our journey that she did not feel the need to hook the Ipod up to my car stereo. High praise coming from a 12 going on 13!

It was a happy week, a busy week, and and exhausting week. I didn't get home from the shopping trip until 11pm and I had to be at work at 4am but it was soooo worth it. I wish I could have fit a few more teens in this week but I can't do everything. I saw who I could see and the time was well spent.

Banshee wasn't lonely either she had a dog friend over for the week a family from church went away and Banshee was more then happy to have her guest. In fact she seem rather upset when I came home without him today.

Thank you God for such a great week.
