Stepping Out From the Shattered Place

The Lord has had me on an incredible journey. I finally feel like I am stepping out from the shattered place into Gods healing hands.

Women of Faith was good. The speakers where funny and heartfelt as is typical. It was a laugh till you cry/ cry till you laugh kind of time. One of the speakers, Carol Kent, talked about her son. Here is what is on the back of one of the books she wrote.

"Carol Kent's life changed forever when her twenty-five year old son, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a lieutenant in the navy with an impeccable military record, shot and killed his wife's ex-husband. Through this devastating set of circumstances, Carol learned ten transformational power principles that God has taught her in the midst of all her agony. For the first time, best-selling author and popular speaker Carol Kent is ready to share her story with the world. It will change the way you think about personal challenges."

I sat there crying for her. The pain of watching her son go through this was clear in her voice and her face. It made me think my problems are nothing compared to what her son is going through. A good lesson in perspective. Her son is serving a life sentence without possiblity of parole. The book is called "When I Lay My Isaac Down"

Another speaker, Jennifer Rothschild, spoke about loosing her sight as a teenager and how she had to re-learn everything. She spoke of fears and over coming fear and the rewards she found by getting over them. Her books "What I learned in the dark" and "What I learned in the light" should be interesting reads that I plan on getting to soon.

What was amazing about these women is not that they have survived heart ache and hardship but that they found joy in the middle of the heart ache and hardship
