Stepping Out From the Shattered Place

The Lord has had me on an incredible journey. I finally feel like I am stepping out from the shattered place into Gods healing hands.

It's been a busy few days. We celebrated my Mother's birthday yesterday. I made her a cake from scratch and she liked it. The our of us went to dinner then came back here for cake and coffee.

It was nice that my house was in shape for company for a change. It was a last minute idea to save me from trying to transport the cake in one piece to the restaurant or my parents house.

My brother was kind to my dog which is unusual for him. She is a mutt and he prefers full bred dogs. We had talked about how she could not hear well over dinner and when we got back to the house the dog had no idea we had come in. He went up to her and said she hasn't moved. I said she doesn't know we are here yet, so he gently touched her. She woke up startled but soon realized who he was. Good thing she is not a bite first ask questions later kind of dog. She enjoyed his attention then moved on to my parents. She was happy to have them there to pet and love her.

I told them that we are working out ways of understanding each other dealing with her hearing loss and that there are blessings to it it. Thunder and fireworks no longer bother her. :-)

It was nice being all together.

The play was great fun my neighbor and I enjoyed it and her brother was great. The lead on the other hand was rather rough and it was clear he was having a hard time remembering his lines. I understand that last weekend he was still on book. Yikes that is bad when the show is going on! The parts he knew he knew well and acted well. The rest was almost painful at times. The staging was excellent and all the other actors did a fantastic job. The jester in particular was exceptional. Thanks to the actor we knew we got to meet most of the cast and chat with them. I may even join the troupe. :-)
