Stepping Out From the Shattered Place

The Lord has had me on an incredible journey. I finally feel like I am stepping out from the shattered place into Gods healing hands.

My Weekend

Well my walls are all one color a very nice shade of yellow called golden slumber. The trim and doors are all a nice crisp white. It came out well and I am pleased. Another project that was started months ago and I has been driving me crazy. A bit of moving about of furniture and figuring out what to hang on the walls and the room will be done. The curtains are up but the rods are in a sad state and need to be replace. Another expense. :-p These work sort of so that is an expense that will wait till I am back to work full time.

Yesterday some friends picked me up and I enjoyed a fun evening eating and relaxing with friends. Had a nice long walk with my friend too. Was fed an amazing dinner too!

Yesterday afternoon one of my teens sent me an IM saying he had stopped by the day before but I didn't answer the door. It's an odd adjustment. My dog has been my ears for the past 10.5 years. Now I hear better then she does. It's been about a month since her hearing has been damaged and we are not use to it yet. When I had a guest she would always come tell me. She would let me know when the phone rang or if a car was in the drive. Now she has no clue that anyone is there.

I told my teen that he should open the door a bit and yell hello. He stopped by yesterday and kept me company watching a movie while I painted. He got around to the reason for his visit after a time. One of his friends is toying with the pagan "religion" Today he came back bring me some books he thought I would like to borrow. They do look interesting so I am looking forward to looking through them. The sad thing is he had to open the door and yell hello Banshee had no idea he was there. I walked out to the kitchen and said to the dog come see who is here and she still did not wake up. She was sound asleep and until I stomped on the floor she didn't wake up. I am learning to be my dogs ears and the good news is she learned sign language along with verbal commands as a puppy. She still understands me because that is the way I taught her as a baby. I find I am signing to her more and more now. Before it was pretty basic stuff now I am showing her things to get her attention and showing her the sign for the item. Hopefully I can teach an old dog new tricks.

My teen joined me for hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill I made a pasta salad and some veggies on the grill too. We enjoyed a nice lunch and a good chat about the religions of the world. It was a good YM moment.

The next big project will be the spare room. That is a task I will wait to undertake on Wed. I think. For the rest of today I think I shall rest. For some reason I feel rather tired.

It occurs to me that some may think that having a male student in my home with no one else here is a foolish thing to do. Typically I do not allow that type of situation, but this teen and a couple others are the sons of very good friends of mine and the parents encourage their sons to trust me. As this one said after lunch today when he belched rather loudly. "Hey your family when I am with you I acted like I do with my family" That made me laugh. The difference between his Mom and me I don't make him say excuse me. :-) It's his mom's job to teach him manners and mine to be a guild in the teen process of figuring out who he is, help him to spread his wings and learn to fly. I am one of many guilds in his life and I am honored to be trusted by him and his parents.
