Stepping Out From the Shattered Place

The Lord has had me on an incredible journey. I finally feel like I am stepping out from the shattered place into Gods healing hands.

Torchwood

Ok so it was a day of laundry and ironing. While watching Torchwood. It is a spin off of Dr Who

Ok, so I watched all of season one today and I am not sure if I will watch season two. What I really want to know is what is up with what is airing on the BBC these days? I don't think there is a character that didn't make out with someone of the same gender.

I looked up the creator of Torchwood to see what his beliefs are. I found that he made the list of most influential gay men. That explains same sex snogging on Torchwood. It is a shame because Torchwood was a good show, but that was lost in the intentional forcing of sexual orientation in nearly every episode. I am not enlightened which I am sure was the hope of the creator, I am disgusted and I doubt that I will watch any other seasons.

It doesn't end with Torchwood, I have been asking the question of what is up with the BBC for a while now. It started when I watched an season one of Ms Marple I don't recall any gay characters in Agatha Christie's books and yet there where two women kissing in one story and two women lovers who where the murders in another. They stories where not written this way and I think it is horrid to change the story created by someone else for you own agenda.

These are just two examples of the many that I have seen. It is starting to feel like there are no shows that are safe. There are many cultural differences that I am aware of. The Quaker's and Puritans all came over here and that I think has a lot to do with it. Our country was built on their beliefs and moral code, therefore we are more close minded about showing sex. We are quickly loosing that advantage, but there are those who are fighting daily to keep our moral code.

Most American TV is crap but at least I know where to find clean programs. I don't find programs that should be clean and find that they are not. The FCC fines are too high. :-)

I don't think Torchwood would have bothered me if there was one character out of five who was gay, that would be realistic. Not every one of them. I know people who do not know any gay people and out of everyone I know there are two people in my life who have chosen a life partner of the same sex. I don't push my views on others and I resent having other peoples views pushed on me.

A gift for me.

Last Year I wrote about The shrunken sunken garden and the play I saw there.

This year they are doing another play and my friends brother is in it again. My friend just told me about it and said she wants to take me for my birthday. :-) We are planing on going next Friday night. I am excited!

It is a gift that is so perfect for who I am. One that shows how well my friend knows me, plus it is a gift of her time. I love spending time with friends.
